Comment nettoyer et entretenir ses bouchons en silicone

How to clean and care for your silicone earplugs

A silicone earplug is made to last — provided you care for it. Since it spends the night in your ear, care isn't optional: it's what keeps your earplugs hygienic, comfortable and effective over time. Here's the routine, in a few seconds a day.

Why care matters so much

Your earplugs are in repeated contact with your ear canal. Without cleaning, they build up earwax, sebum and dust, which becomes unhygienic and can irritate. A clean earplug grips better, softens better and stays pleasant to wear.

The daily routine (20 seconds)

  1. Rinse your earplugs in lukewarm water.
  2. Wash them gently with a little mild soap, with your fingertips.
  3. Rinse again to remove all the soap.
  4. Air-dry on a clean surface, then store in the case.

That's it. The case isn't a detail: it stops your earplugs lying on the nightstand where they pick up lint and dust. Core comes with its own for this reason.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Boiling water or harsh products: pointless and potentially damaging. Lukewarm water and mild soap are enough.
  • Storing them damp: let them dry fully before putting them back in the case.
  • Leaving them out all the time: dust settles on them. The case protects them.
  • Scrubbing too hard: silicone cleans gently, no need to attack the material.

A deeper clean now and then

Once a week, take a few extra seconds to work the mild soap in thoroughly. Also inspect your earplugs: they should stay soft and intact.

When to replace them?

A good silicone earplug lasts a long time, but it isn't forever. Replace them if you notice deformation, a crack, material that hardens or sticks, or a persistent smell despite washing. As long as they stay soft, clean and comfortable, they're good.

The "two pairs" tip

Having a second pair lets you use one while the other dries, and always have something clean to hand. That's the whole point of the Duo "Day & Night", and the Trio "Palette" adds a travel pair.

In short

Rinse, soap, rinse, dry, store: twenty seconds that extend the life of your earplugs and keep your ears clean. Simple care is what separates a "truly" reusable earplug from one you end up throwing away. And with the 30-night trial, you settle into the habit risk-free.

Sleep in silence.
